Flat Out Off Road Racing Team has
returned from the Harvey Short Course Off Road Race with great result of
second in class. It was a great event and hopefully the Western Desert
Racers can secure the venue for next year. The Landcruiser 80 series
performed well and got quicker as the night went on, with some good close
competition. We decided not to compete in the tin top shootout due to a
minor oil leak which was a fire hazard.
The photos page has been updated
with tin tops and buggies and a video to follow shortly

Flat Out Off Road Racing Team will
be contesting the season ending Harvey Short Course on Saturday November
24th. The teams Extreme 4WD Class 80 Series Landcruiser has been prepped and
fitted with extra lights to help guide the car in its first night race. This
will be the first time the team will compete in a short course event and
this is a challenge the team is looking forward to. For more information on
the Harvey Short Course Event, see
www.westerndesertracers.com or

The Flat Out Off Road Racing Teams Extreme 4wd Class
80 Series Landcruiser will be at the Perth 4wd Show at McCallum Park this
weekend, 16th-18th November. The car will be on display at one of our sponsors, Raw 4x4s stand. The car is as it was at the
Gascoyne Dash, with the single Raw Nitro Max Shocks all round, but it has
been washed for the occasion. For more information about the 4wd show see
www.4wdshow.com.au
and for more information on Raw 4x4 Shocks see

Race two for the new car has
been another success, with a first in class and 5th outright. The
Gascoyne Dash would have to be the toughest offroad race in WA if not
the country. The 500km two day race has everything from rocky
outcrops, washouts, 160km's of river bed and fast station tracks.
The Landcruiser performed almost faultlessly, we lost time due to
a low idle, this caused stalling on hard braking, being the only
mechanical issue on day one. We also lost about 10 minutes on Day
two when we thought we lost drive to the front diff, stopping and
checking to find all was ok. This was the first time the team has
completed this race so a cautious approach was taken which proved
successful (until the flying finish!!!). The Gassy Dash was a
great race, congratulations to the Gascoyne Offroad Racing Club for the
well organised event.

The new 6.0 litre 80 Series
Landcruiser's first race at Hyden Humps has been completed with
great success, a 2nd in Extreme 4wd class, and it performed
faultlessly. Being a totally different car to race, compared to
the previous 4.5 litre engine, a few races will be needed to sort out
the driving style to benefit fully from the increase of power.
Preparations are now underway for the next event being the Gascoyne Dash
at Carnarvon, Brett Young will be navi with Justine driving the
transporter, this race will be a good test for the Landcruiser.
